BIGGEST LEARNING OF THE WEEK
🚨 Chasing the Ghost

The Learning: Pushing for fast growth to please investors can actually ruin a startup. Many founders fall into the "fake growth" trap, chasing revenue by selling irrelevant products or unrelated services just to hit targets while their core product remains broken.
A Fictional Scenario:
An investor demanded that AutoFlow double its revenue in 60 days.
To hit the number, the founders focused on selling irrelevant products/services to anyone with a budget.
Sales spiked, but the team lost focus and neglected the core product.
Those new customers churned together with existing ones, leaving the founders with a broken product and zero momentum.
Takeaway: Investors know the market, but you know your business. Chasing inflated numbers is just borrowing trouble. Real success comes from high retention, not a one-week spike on a spreadsheet. Protect your focus and play the long game.
PS: Don’t confuse this with Paul Graham’s "do things that don’t scale." Scaling manually to find the truth is a strategy. Scaling manually to hide the truth is a trap
